If you spent in the neighborhood of 4 to 6 hours in the tutorial, doing everything that is has to offer - you'll probably end up leaving at around level 7. That is quite possibly the fastest way of leveling up at this point in the game, in addition to all the extra skills and suchlike that people will pick up.
Things slow down a little past that point. If I had to extrapolate, i'd say that there would be people around level ~12 as an exception, rather than the rule. It all depends on whether they want to zerg through it without appreciating all the things they might have missed, or take their time to see all the new stuff along the way. |

Not necessarily. You can get to level 3 and leave the tutorial in a relatively brief period of time. I'm just assuming that, for their first characters through the retail version of the game - without fear of them being wiped like in every BWE - people will actually want to invest the time to do all the things they can do, rather than to flit about from area to area due to time constraints.
The estimate of 4 to 6 hours takes into account every possible quest that you can find in that region - some will only open up after you've completed others, some you have to look for, etc. |

highest is 20, but if theres a hardcore player that plays for 24 hr straight, then expect him to be around lvl 16 or so.

I presume a 'Hardcore' player that also ' knows the tricks of leveling' will be level 20 in about 14 hours maybe less. But he/she wont have much fun getting there if said player does it that fast.

I am sure you can find hints and tips elsewhere on how to level. But you are really doing yourself an injustice. The game is simply beautiful and deserves to be played and gauked at and not rushed. Other people may have tips for you.

Some people find it fun racing to 20 as soon as possible. Don't assume everyone is playing the game just to look at everything. Some people love the competition of being first level 20. It's all about how you approach the game.

As someone who has been through this game from start to finish over the past 8 months a number of times that modern mathematics can't properly annotate, I will say this: I wouldn't count on reaching level 20 before you pass out.
There are a few considerations along the way that need to be made; most characters are going to need better armor to get through the missions as they progress. Better armor means more time spent gathering resources. The same can be said for weapons, skills, etc. And the faster that someone gets ahead in this early point of the game, the less people there are going to be to help them along, so they will have to rely increasingly on henchmen to get through the missions. I suppose what i'm getting at here: Whether you're playing the game fast, or slow, it doesn't matter - don't look so much to the destination that you overlook the trip there, so to speak. |
